Freedom of Expression

This poster was commissioned for Amnesty International’s group exhibition on human rights.

It supports the right for women and the elderly to have a voice in our societies.

The poster has won the Lahti XIV International Poster Biennial Grand Prix as the first Finnish Grand Prix in the Biennial’s history, the Mexico IIX International Poster Biennial Gold Medal, the Taiwan International Poster Biennial Bronze Medal, and a Silver Medal (Hopeahuippu) at the national Vuoden Huiput design annual competition. It is in the collections of numerous international poster archives, selected to the successful Graphic imperative: International Posters of Peace, Social Justice and Environment 1965–2005 -exhibition in the USA, the Masterpieces-exhibition in Slovenia, the L´affiche 100% Finlande 1907–2007 exhibition in Paris, Design Forum Young Forum exhibition in Japan, the “All Gold of the World” - an exhibition of posters awarded by Grand Prixs, Golden Awards and First Prizes in key international contests between 2000 and 2010 in Moscow, Help – Soziale Appelle im Plakat, Zürich, and numerous international poster biennials. It is also in the Heibonsha Dictionary of Today’s Design, Japan, 2007.
