In the Posliinikatu art facade project Herbaario BOTH joiden forces again with our in-house-artist Eeva Kaisa Berry.
Our commission was to add value to five individual hallway entries and to create a repeated pattern to the top part of the building. The technique is graphic concrete, with which we’ve worked quite a bit.
The motifs resemble scientific plant collections. The selection of plants is from Arabianranta’s typical, but usually unseen inhabitants; Plantago major, Glenchoma hederacea, w subsp. Alba, Descurainia sophia and Sisymbrium altissimum.
The plants have been drawn from the University of Helsinki collections.
The whole piece was finished in September of 2010. Check it out live here.
The final result hand-in-hand with everyday life.
