It pays to be visible

When ever Jätkäsaari is covered by the media, strangely enough most of the pictures from the up-coming area seem to have something in common. Often they all include the bunker. It makes sense since the bunker is the largest building under conservation in the area. However the bunker is NOT shot from Hernesaari dock where you could get a nice view of eastern coast line of Jätkäsaari and its lively port with luxurious passenger boats from all corners of the world. The bunker is NOT shot from south where you could get a beautiful view of Jätkäsaari in its full length. The bunker is NOT shot from Lauttasaari where you could get a good impression how Jätkäsaari is positioned in the headland of Helsinki.

Makes you wonder why the bunker is always photographed from north, doesn’t it?

The Official BOTH Office Pet

Lumi is visiting us couple of days at the office. After next Monday when Lumi’s traineeship has ended I’m sure we all are going to miss the sound of  little paws scratching the floor.

Olet kaunis! you are beautiful succesfully planted

We had a sunny grand planting session with our Olet Kaunis! You are beautiful! from last Wednesday to Sunday now two weeks ago.

All the 15 000 bulbs are planted, lots of kids running around, hot juice, Finnish pulla and ample of sunshine available.

We made lots of new friends, which is something you rarely get when you work with a Mac.

Thanks for taking part, everybody!

And remember, that the canvas is yours. Plant your own messages to complement ours. If a cop comes by, ask what the charges are. Besides, around our locations, there’s an official permit. We are so middle-class.

We got some nice media coverage, too.

Jyrkkälä had the greatest atmosphere; kids with and without parents taking part. They were very precise with their bulb math.

Andy with the camera promised to do some day-to-day photo shoots in the spring. No stress, Andy!

Kiril and Fedja marking a planted square. The red ink runs away with the first rain. We were told.

Leakaarina planting in Vasaramäki park. The “O” in Olet kaunis will be the best one around.

At the end of the day Liisa was one of our last volunteers to leave the site. Liisa posing in front of the almost-ready  Puolalanpuisto piece, which will be the most easily reached piece of the three.

Let there be spring!

ProCom jury duty on its way

Wev’e been invited to jury in the ProCom annual magazine contest. This is a hat-trick now, since this is our third time around.

Most magazines are lame, some horrible, but some make us envies. Wish we had done some of them!

Thanks for the beautiful ones, which make the jurying worth while.

Coffee, please! On the go with one of the good ones. From the left journalists Jarno Forssell and Riitta Korhonen, on the right our very own Teemu.
