Ulla Pietiläinen has signed for the project manager job today.

Ulla has a BBA in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from InHolland University in Amsterdam. She has worked as a key account and project manager for the last 10 years in London and in Finland. In London she worked for example in navyblue design agency, where her clients included Aston Villa, London 2012, Royal Opera House and the Hungarian Radio.

Her speciality is in managing large projects with a practical understaning of different marketing channels from traditional medias to the net and Twitter. She has worked in TBWA Helsinki, Bladonmore Desig, navyblue desig, Still Waters Run Deepissä and Axel Digital. AND she digs our odd environmental stuff.

Welcome Ulla! We are expecting a lovely relationship.

Another thing: We got the best possible feedback for the piece right after the fall of 2010 planting sessions.

A concerned mother of kids going to a small local school contacted us. Their very own school was under the threat of shutting down and the kids hauled over to the town centre to the bigger school far away.

Needless to say, the parents fought this very hard, and we were asked if they could use a part of Olet kaunis! as a gentle demonstration for their school.

Our very own Katri is a member of a street dance company called DCA Street Crew. Last weekend they blew off the roof of the Barona Stadium by winning the National Street Dance championships. We are proud of her… and so is she.

Man, we’re up to our knees with project manager applications. Hurts to sort them out, so many briliant ones to choose from.

Stockholms Typographic Guild invited a bunch of Finnish typedesigners to present at Stockholms Finnish Institute. BOTH showed a couple of its typefaces and a hefty collection of magazine logos. It all went well. The audience seemed delighted. Later on we overheard them say those Finns have nothing to be shy about, and that finnish logo design was interesting and that we’re basically ok people in other ways too.

A consensus was achieved.
